Digital Flip Book

Do you remember flip (animation) books? Perhaps you have one or two sitting around. You know the books with a single image on each page, and as you flip through the images seem to move. I remember these being so much fun as a kid! This weekend, I created a digital "flip book" using the Flipagram app. I use Flipagram quite a bit to share several pictures from a particular event or day, but this weekend I used several images to capture a single moment.

Originally, I hoped to get a picture of a rather large bubble, so I opened the camera on my phone and held the shutter button (I think that's what it's called), capturing 15 images of this moment. I won't bore you with all 15 images, you will see them in the final product, but here is the image I was hoping to capture.

Once I looked at all the pictures I had taken, I realized I had snapped pictures from beginning to end. I went to Flipagram and placed all 15 images in a single Flipagram, played with the speed   the pictures were viewed, added some music, and TADA, I'd created my very first digital Flipbook. Take a look:

Fifteen camera shots turned into a digital "flip book," what did you think?  I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas!

Saturday Snapshots & a New App

Time for another Saturday Snapshots link up! This week we were able to cross off the letter M for Movie on our summer bucket list. We attended the first KC Chiefs Kids Club Movie Night.

We watched The Lego Movie on the field at Arrowhead Stadium, well in our case in the stands. My little man did not want to sit on the field.

Before the movie began there were lots of events for the kids. His favorite activities were visiting Warpaint, the official horse of the Chiefs. He also enjoyed taking pictures with the  Cheerleaders; he's a flirt!

He's still afraid of the team mascot, KC Wolf.

We had a great time, and enjoyed The Lego Movie.

New App-WordFoto

Browsing through twitter I came across an app, called WordFoto, that I instantly fell in love with. I can see so many uses for this app such as, characterization & vocabulary words. I definitely will be using it the first days of school. It is very easy to use. Take a look at what the app does:

Isn't that a cool app? Do you see uses for the classroom? I would love to hear them.

Be sure to stop by the Saturday Snapshot linky to see what other photos have been snapped.

Have a great Saturday,

Saturday Snapshots 6-21

Happy Summer Solstice! I haven't blogged since I've been on summer vacation, but when I saw Miss Nelson's Saturday Snapshots linky was back, I was so excited, I knew I had to write a blog post. Perfect timing too summer is halfway over; yes you heard me right halfway. I thought I'd use them time to share a few of my favorite photos from the summer thus far.

First up is a book I finished from my TBR list, and what a great book it was! Through a series of diary entries Kizzy Ann Stamps takes readers through experiences of racial discrimination, integration, and self acceptance. A very powerful book for tweens.

Next is my son admiring Thomas the Train after our ride.

Lots of water play an bubble blowing fill our down time.

Here's a photo I snapped this morning, and I just love the way it turned out!

Hope you're enjoying your summer. I'm off to enjoy the rest of mine, because it will be over before you know it. Happy Saturday all!
