January Currently

Happy New Year! I'm starting the year off by linking up with Farley for her January Currently.

Listening: I'm currently listening to the local news. It's part of my evening routine (even on winter break). If I miss the news I just feel like something is missing. Weird, I know, but I like to stay caught up with what's going on in the city (good and bad). 

Loving: I'm LOVING every minute of winter break! We haven't gotten out much, trying to avoid catching the flu, but we've had a BLAST hanging out in the house; camped out in the living room.  

Thinking: I'm thinking about going back to work on Monday. BOO!!! I love my job, but this break has been so peaceful and relaxing! I hadn't realized until this year how relaxing winter break could be.  Mainly because I didn't let the stress of the holidays get to me. Yea me!!! 

Wanting: I'm wanting some really good chocolate right about now! I have some M & Ms and Kit-Kats, but I'm wanting a nice gourmet cupcake, or a slice of chocolate cheese cake from the Cheesecake Factory. I might just have to treat myself tomorrow. 

Needing: I'm needing to get the majority of my grades complete before going back to work. I would like to spend my work day organizing and planning. You know getting ahead, wouldn't that be nice?! 

Yes, I will run/walk six 5k races this year! The first one will be the Diva Dash in March, I have to wait for the weather to warm up a bit. 

Maybe, I'll start taking master's classes this year. I've started and stopped, maybe this will be the year I  get it done! 

I wish I could end the year debt free! That is truly wishful thinking, I still have some years on my student loans.

Currently {the Middle of} July

It is currently the middle of July, and I'm joining the currently linky party over at, Oh Boy Fourth Grade. I know I'm late for the party, but better late than never. Without further ado here's my July currently...

Listening: The nightly news is on and they're talking about the weather across the United States. It seems many of you are probably experiencing thunderstorms. We are experiencing fall like temps here in Kansas City. As I write this the current tempeture is 70 degrees. I'm loving our current weather, and it's predicted to last the reminder of the week before tempeture begin to warm up. 

Loving: I am having a wonderful summer! I have a two year old and we are having a blast! I'm going to be so disappointed when I return to work, in three weeks. 

Thinking: THREE WEEKS of summer is all I have left. Summer has gone by so fast! I haven't accomplished much of my summer cleaning, or any of the school projects I had in mind. 

Wanting: Summer needs to slow down, way down! Ha! What are the chances of that happening? I guess I need to speed up. 

Needing: As I mentioned earlier I haven't accomplished much of anything I wanted to, and that's because I just haven't been very motivated. I am in dire need of some motivation, or back to school is not going to go well. Any suggestions???

4th Plans: Since the 4th has come and gone, I'll just tell you how I spent it. I attended a family picnic in the park, and was able to catch up with some of my cousins. Fun times! Later, we went to the lake and watched a beautiful fireworks display. 

There you have it, my extremely late July currently. I sure hope there's someone out there still interested in reading a July Currently! I'll do better next month. 

Currently September

Hello September! I don't know about you, but I'm glad to see August go! As a teacher I feel like August is the most stressful, &  exhausting month of the year. With that being said, it's time to link up with Farley for her monthly currently linky. This is my favorite monthly linky; I even purchased her classroom edition, and will introduce it to my students tomorrow, I'm so excited about that. So, without further ado, here's my currently.

1. Yes, it is 5:00am and I am doing laundry. My son has a feeding tube, and I  was awakened by it twice because there was kink in the line. After the second time I couldn't fall back asleep, so I decided to throw in a load of laundry. 

2. I love 3 day weekends, or should I say I love 4 day work weeks. Labor Day weekend is always much anticipated after the start of a new year. 

3. Despite having a 3 day weekend I still have a lot to get done today; laundry, wash my hair, go to the mall, lesson planning...those are just a few items on today's to-do list.  Where did the weekend go? 

4. SeptemBER begins the BER months, which means the end of 2013 will be here before we know it. Is it just me or does it seem like this time of the year goes by so quickly? 

5. There never seems to be enough hours in a day. How can I get more? I have major time management issues. Is there an app for that? 

6. September's special section is about making time for yourself or your family. 

a. I am so addicted to technology! I have decided, I need to turn it off for a few hours each day. That means no blogging, emailing, surfing the web, facebooking, instagraming, or tweeting between the hours of 6:00-9:00, Monday-Friday. It will definitely be a challenge. 

b. I need to get back into the habit of walking and or running a few times a week. 

c. My caffeine intake has dramatically increased since school started. I need to get back to drinking more water.

App Spotlight: Today's app spotlight is Collect Photo App. With this app you "collect" a photo a day, you can choose to collect more than one, and add it to a calendar. Think of it as a photo journal. I love it! I've been using it since the end of May. I like going back and looking at my photos from the month. It will be nice to review all of them again at the end of the year. You are also able to set up multiple albums, I now have one for school. It will be nice in May to show students pictures from August. Here's a screen shot of my August calendar.

Currently July with Snapshots

I can't believe it's July already! Where did June go? For the second month in a row, I'm joining the Currently Linky Party hosted by Oh' Boy Fourth Grade. I am also going to link up with Run! Miss Nelson's got the Camera for Saturday Snapshots.

Listening:

I'm a long time fan of The Young and the Restless, so whenever I get a break from work I try not to miss it. What better time to catch up than summer? 11:00 am the tv is tuned to Y&R, even though most days I'm just listening to it while do other things around the house. 

Loving: 

Summer school ended last week, and my sister and cousin needed someone to watch their kids (both are 10).  I volunteered. It's actually nice because, they keep my 1 year old busy. Plus, we had a lot of fun geocaching yesterday. 

Thinking: 

I'm taking some on-line classes this summer, and as hard as it maybe I'm trying not to wait until the last minute to turn in my assignments. 

Wanting: 

June was a busy month, and went by way to fast! Before you know it it'll be time to go back to school. I'm excited for the upcoming year, but I am enjoying summer, oh so much. 

Needing:

With my relaxed summer schedule, I've also relaxed on getting the laundry done. My goal is to be all caught up by the 4th of July! 

Tips: 

Savor every moment of summer! What better way to do that than with snapshots of those moments.  Here are some snapshots from June. 

I used the app A Beautiful Mess to add the text to this beautiful summertime photo. It's a new app I've just started using. 

Bowling in the street was a first for us, and a ton of fun!  I used one of my favorite apps (pic collage) to create this collage. 

Hot summer days are spent outside in water. 

Water painting when it's not hot enough to get in the pool is also fun. 

My daughter and I ready for a 5k fun run, on a nice summer night.

Currently June

This time last year I was just getting into blogging, and was able to get a few post in before the school year started. Then I got busy with school and couldn't find the time to blog much. Now that summer is here, I have the time to get back into blogging. In doing so, I keep seeing linky parties, and have decided to take some time to link up.

Listening: It's a cool Sunday afternoon, and many kids are out at the park across the street. Sounds of summer oh so sweet! 

Loving: Since I am not a morning person (more of a night owl), I am loving staying up late and sleeping in. Night time is the best time to be on my computer; no interruptions. 

Thinking: June is my birthday month, and  the theme this year is "Another Year of Fabulous!" Now that the theme is set I just need to plan the rest. I really enjoy planning parties. Maybe I'll host a linky party before summer is over. 

Wanting: Having a 20 month old running around things get pretty messy, and a housekeeper would be nice. Not going to happen, so I'll just keep wanting. 

Needing: Every summer I have a summer cleaning list, and every summer I wait until right before it's time to return to work to complete it. This summer I plan to be done early. If that's going to happen I need to start soon. 

Vacay Essentials: I enjoy vacationing in the summer. Flip flops and sunglasses a must. Along with that is a camera. I've pretty much put away the traditional camera for my iPhone camera. Plus there are some pretty cool picture apps I like to use:  Memory Jar, Collect, A+ Signature, and Pic Collage. I have yet to catch the Instagram bug.
